Chronicle of Canada

It wasn't easy to build Canada. Nor is it easy to chronicle its building over centuries of time: the country is so huge, its region and peoples so varied in their interests and activities. We hence must deal with events that range from Newfoundland fishing shores to Pacific mountain valleys, from Niagara vinelands to Arctic tundra. We have to report on the life and effort of 17th century Quebec colonists, or prairie wheat farmers 200 years later: on the original native dwellers in primeval forests, or recent immigrants to the great cities of the present. 

The reports and picures that they contain are the living news of Canada, a vivid vital story extending back even before written historical records.
