Come Spring: A Parable of Love and Faith

Grace had noticed him slip out the door and had been watching him from the vestibule. "You still can't believe it, can you, Mr. Cooper?" She asked as she came outside to join him.

"Aye, a dream come true," Cooper said, drawing thoughtfully on his pipe.

"I'd give you a penny for them if I had one to spare," Grace prompted.

"I wouldn't take it if you had," Cooper said, with an amused chuckle. "It's not fair for the person in your thoughts to be paying for them."

"I see," Grace mused curiously. "And just what were you thinking about the person in your thoughts?"

"Oh, just that perhaps it's time she considered calling me by my first name."

"Fine, Mr. Cooper, I'll see to it she does just that."
