Don't Let Canada Die by Neglect

Trust an American to ask the question: "Do you love your country?"

"Of Course I do," I responded. I confess to being very much in love with Canada, with all its contradictions, its proclivity to being small-minded and its paralysing and fragile self-image.

But love for country calls for a deeper and more Christian response, one that goes beyond memories, feelings and nostalgia. In short if requires a qualifier. What it means to love any part of creation --including m y wife, family and country - is conditioned by. what it means to love God. Implicit in the command to love God "with all your heart, soul and mind: is to love nothing more than God, and further, to love what God loves.
