Rising as a series of small streams in the Dundalk Highlands of Southern Ontario, the Grand River gracefully meanders its course to Port Maitland on Lake Erie. there is much to know and to discover about this valley, and these form the ingredients which make Grand River Reflections a bold, pictorial celebration of Southern Ontario's most extensive river system.

Through the pages of this book, the reader is invited to take an armchair excursion down the Grand River Valley. Encountered on the journey will be unique natural and geological areas, typified by the wildlife sanctuaries of Luther Marsh and the rugged beauty of Elora Gorge. Readers will be introduced to the Grand's historic places, and will meet such famous past residents as Alexander Graham Bell, Joseph Brant, and Pauline Johnson.

Noted photographer John de Visser has vividly captured the spirit of the Grand on film. Through all four seasons, he has visited its noted cities and landmarks, as well as explored its more obscure back roads and villages. The result is an intimate view of the valley, of which even the most knowledgable residents and visitors may not otherwise be aware.
