Brian Selznick is the illustrator of various celebrated picture books and novels, among them the Caldecott Honor Book The Dinosaurs of Waterhouse Hawkins and the New York Times Best Illustrated Walt Whitman: Words for America, both written by Barbara Kerley, as well s the Silbert Honor winner When Marian Sang by Pam Muñoz Ryan. Selznick has worked as bookseller, a set designer, and a puppeteer. He lives in Brooklyn, New York, and San Diego, California.
